Agnes Kimura

In 1977, Agnes Kimura made her professional debut as a singer in the Hawaiian band "Tatsuo Otsuka and the Palm Serenadas". At the same time, she was also active as a Polynesian dancer. Since then, she has received the Hawaii Governor's Award for Meritorious Service, two Hawaii Music Awards International Awards, and a message from the Mayor of Honolulu as a "Music Goodwill Ambassador between Japan and Hawaii" at the 30th anniversary concert of her debut. In 2007, she formed the Agnes Kimura Band with bassist Tomohiro Kawakami, featuring guitarist Yusuke Suzuki, a versatile player of the slack-key guitar, a traditional Hawaiian tuning. They have performed on luxury cruise ships, at hotels, concerts, live houses, and various events. They sing the heart of Hawaii and Japan with the beautiful sound of slack-key guitar, attracting many people. Agnes Kimura celebrated her 50th anniversary in 2024.
