Artist Profile

Andrea Viscardi

Allowing people to dive into rousing beauty and multifaceted emotions has always been Andrea's chief goal when playing and composing music. Born in Bergamo, Italy, in 1989, he started stroking blacks and whites at the age of six, and made his art the foundation of a successful career. He developed and refined his piano technique at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Royal Academy of Music in London, and the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan, graduating in 2012. Thoroughness and discipline in studying has never been enough for his soul. Indeed, he challenged himself in a number of international piano competitions, where he was awarded with several prizes. Also, the impulse to make the ivories play his own creations emerged with his early piano works. But Andrea's creativity transcends the realm of piano music: since the young age, he engaged in organ, choral and string quartet compositions. In recent years, he has been innovating in electronic music, releasing on the most important international labels and collaborating with renowned DJs and producers. Whether in classical or electronic music, Andrea showed the willingness to put his skin in the game and to find the road to success. Experimentation and hard work have also been carried out with regard to filmscoring. In 2013, Andrea wrote the music for the documentary Cue the Muse, which won the prestigious Canadian Leo Award and received a nomination for the Emmy Award in 2014. 2020 has been the year Andrea has been going back to the piano keyboard to rediscover the sounds of contemporary classical compositions. His debut single Deeper Lake is an immersion in his understanding of the reality around us and in the emotions life strike us with. The motive behind this last work is to give a contemporaneous taste to acoustic and chamber instruments, so that these classical tools can be made the foundation of a renowned approach to music and life, an approach that anyone can appreciate and enjoy. Andrea's eclecticism aims at bridging the gap between musical genres that too often are seen as antithetical and disconnected. Music is a holistic enterprise able to engage the soul of all human beings. Nothing more than Andrea's art can make this truth clearer.
