Hamao Fujiwara

Hailed on three continents as "conspicuously impressive" (Yomiuri News, Tokyo), "a superb artist" (New York Times), with a "burning sense of musical purpose" (London Times), his active recital career has recently taken him to Japan, India, and Western Europe, and the United States. He has appeared as soloist with major orchestras worldwide, including the Tokyo, Hong Kong, Seoul, Belgium, Rochester, Toronto, Vancouver. Mr. Fujiwara, a graduate of the Juilliard School, where he studied with Joseph Fuchs, has been a prizewinner in the National Music Competition of Japan, the Paganini International Violin Competition and the Queen Elizabeth International Music Competition. From 1992 to 2012, Mr. Fujiwara served as The Solo Concertmaster for the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Fujiwara has been also active in teaching, at the Juilliard School, the Manhattan School of Music, the University of Michigan School of Music, and currently at The Toho Gakuen School of Music, and The Tokyo College of Music.
