J.A.K.A.M. (also known as MOOCHY) started his musical career in punk, hardcore, and hip-hop, and has since embraced a wide array of styles, including jungle, drum and bass, house, techno, tribal, jazz, and world music. His sound is a product of the underground and street music scenes, breaking the mold of typical DJ, band, or producer roles. He's gained prominence as the frontman of EVIL POWERS ME and as a standout DJ at Rhythm Freaks' drum and bass events. J.A.K.A.M. has significantly influenced the dance music crossover, transforming diverse beats and energy into a distinctively Japanese form. He's also active as the leader of bands like NXS and TULULULUS and is involved in public address system management. As J.A.K.A.M., he's released five full-length albums and a multitude of singles, which have become enduring hits on dance floors worldwide. His latest album, FRAGMENTS, features tribal dance beats and ethnic melodies, integrating field recordings and traditional instruments from India and Pakistan into his unique orchestral style.
