Artist Profile

Arakawa Sapience

The band was formed in 2013 by Yamada, Shohei Sakaguchi, and his younger brother Ryota Sakaguchi, who attended the same university. The following year, Yamada and his childhood friend, Ko, joined the band as a vocalist and began producing original music. A four-piece house band from downtown Tokyo. The band's electronic and primitive sound is a fusion of danceable beats influenced by house and hip-hop, vocals with an innovative and memorable melodic sense and diverse expressive power, fresh and quirky guitars, and groovy percussion. The band's sound is somewhat new and nostalgic in its genre-less musicality. They have a multi-faceted ability to express themselves, producing mixes, artwork, and music videos on their own. They have performed at outdoor music festivals such as "HEUVEL" and many other outdoor events. He also produces music, including the theme song for Jwave EARLY GLORY, a radio program that will start in April 2024.
