Chiyo Hagiwara

Graduating from Tokyo College of Music, the talented Pianist Chiyo Hagiwara studied for piano with Yayoi Fujisawa, Toru Kimura, Shinya Ozaki, Hitoshi Kobayashi, Yutaka Yoshida,Csíky Boldizsár, Csíky Boldizsár Jr. and Junko Massaglia,and studied for composition with ,Csíky Boldizsár. She performed several times as a soloist with the 'Targu Mures Philharmonic Orchestra' and the Satu Mare 'Dinu Lipatti Philharmonic Orchestra'(Romania) also having piano recitals in France, Japan and Romania (Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Satu Mare, Sighisoara, Odorheiu-Secuiesc, Peles Castle). In Romania she was introduced to Carl Filtch's works by Csíky Boldizsár Sr. and Csíky Boldizsár Jr., the leading expert in Filtsch research. At present Chiyo Hagiwara's name in Japan is connected with introducing into the attention of the Japanese classical music's world the works of the Transylvanian genius composer Carl Filtsch as an absolute premiere, performing Carl Filtsch's works for the first time in Japan. In April 2017 Chiyo Hagiwara's Filtsch CD reached the 1st place on the Billboard Japan Top Album being widely broadcasted. Presenting Carl Filtsch's works to the Japanese public was highly appreciated by the Japanese cultural magazines and media. Besides being a Classical Pianist, Chiyo Hagiwara is involved in other musical projects as well as playing the keyboard and singing in English and Hindi on the Indian Music Album 'Pilgrimage' playing the piano and singing 'All 91 wild rose songs of the world' at Kanoya Rose Garden, Kagoshima (Japan); composing on commission in 2009 for the'Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force the Air Patrol Squadron 1st. squadron song'. In 2017 she was awarded with Yamato City Culture and Art Future Award. She received the 3rd prize at the 'Concours Musical de France, International Piano Competition' (Paris, 2019). In 2020 she finished performing the series of all of Bach's Piano concertos with the Satu Mare ,Dinu' Lipatti Philharmonic Orchestra' ,(Romania) conducted by Shinya Ozaki. In 2020, Chiyo Hagiwara released a CD of her own compositions called 'Poetry and Dance' and 'Ocean'. In 2020 she created the concept of 'Senzonshō' playing her own compositions and contemporary music on bells and other traditional Japanese instruments, using Kyujo Orin,performing in shrines, temples, special halls and events. In 2021 she released her first 'Senzonshō CD called 'Amano Iwato suite' based on her own compositions. Her artistic talent and creativity is expressed through photography and painting as well, her works being presented in exhibitions 'Mitsuo Tsujimoto's photo studio', (Kyoto 2020, 2021)
