e°murasaki

Reconstructing lost Japanese melodies based on black music... Artist e°murasaki is a solo project started in 2024 by Yasutaka Mizunaga, a singer, producer, and string player. The unique characteristics of his work are a fusion of Neo Soul/R&B/Hiphop sounds with sampling of Japanese sounds such as Shinobue (bamboo flute) and Shamisen (three-stringed Japanese banjo), and old-fashioned Japanese lyrics and English rap lyrics. Yasutaka Mizunaga is the arranger and string player for the folk band Drunken Angel in addition to e°murasaki. He also participates as a live recording guitarist for FutureFunk producer Night Tempo and Neo Soul artist Jerome Thomas, and produces music for Yun*chi, a singer and model. e°murasaki draws you into the alternative "Edo" sound.
