Yasu Cub

With roots in Atlanta, Jacob Oki Ahearn recorded debut album, "Highways," under the alias Yasu Cub, in San Francisco on the eve of the pandemic in the winter of 2019. In July of 2020, he moved to Tokyo and, reflecting a change in environment, began incorporating dream pop elements into his song-writing differing from the indie folk roots of his earlier music. In fall of 2021, he met fellow band members, Dennis (drums), Soda (lead guitar), and Shintaro (drums). In summer of 2023, Yasu Cub went on a national tour with American indie rock duo In The Valley Below. Yasu Cub's debut album, "Highways," released in January of 2023, and a follow-up EP, "Elevator," was released in February of 2024 along with a music video fo the title-track.
