Christmas Advent
Over the past 10 years, the Fukuoka Christmas Market has expanded to Hakata, Tenjin, and Nakasu, connecting the city of Fukuoka with light. Starting this year, the event will be collectively called "Christmas Advent" and expanded to Tenjin Chuo Park, the plaza in front of Kihin Kan, and Fukuoka Daimyo Garden City. The word "Advent" is derived from the Latin Adventus, meaning "the coming of Christ. In many parts of Europe, there are various customs to express gratitude to those close to you and your loved ones during the four weeks leading up to Christmas, and to look forward to the coming of Christ with excitement. For example, an advent calendar is used to count down the days until December 24, and to open small drawers filled with sweets and gifts. Christmas Advent" will be enriched with more contents than ever before so that all who gather there can feel "love," "joy," "comfort," "happiness," and "hope. We aim to become "the world's best Christmas town" through the Christmas Market, which has become a "winter tradition" of Fukuoka. Let's enjoy the days leading up to Christmas here and there in the city. Please look forward to it!
