FUMIO YASUDA
Fumio Yasuda is a composer active in Japan and Europe. He is also active as a pianist. His works have been performed by the Basel Chamber Orchestra, the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and other orchestras and performers abroad. A first-class jazz pianist, he made his European debut in 2000 with the CD 'KAKYOKU'. The German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine described the CD as 'an encyclopaedia of contemporary Japanese music, with a musicality and tension that begins with the first note of the piano and remains unwavering throughout', and it was chosen as a special selection. He also continues to try new experiments, such as his opera composition/adaptation 'Der Kastanienball' (premiered at the Munich Opera Festival in 2004), which transcends classical and jazz and was described by the German newspaper 'Kieler Nachrichten' as 'the most unique of our time'. Since then he has continued to work with top musicians such as cellist Ernst Reijseger, singer Theo Bleckmann and accordionist Teodoro Anzellotti. He made his debut in the Great Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna in 2014. As a composer, arranger and pianist, he has performed with the Vienna Tonkünstler Orchestra. His film music has been performed in many international films, including Help Me Eros, an official competition entry at the Venice International Film Festival, as well as music for NHK/BS Premiere. Currently performing and recording with Forma Antiqva, Exaudi vocal ensemble, Joachim Badenhorst, etc. Released a piano duo album 'RIN' in January 2023, recommended by Record Geijutsu. The album was recommended by Record Geijutsu. The album won the Best Performer Award at the 29th Japan Professional Music Recording Awards. In June 2023, the CD 'Ekekeilia' was released on the German label Winter and Winter.
